Altered Five Blues Band: Testifyin' (EP)
Altered Five smokes, smolders and burns like a swig of good whiskey. The hip Milwaukee quintet is known for its strong brew of tough, original blues and hard-hitting live shows. The new EP kicks hard like the four award-winning records preceding it.

Imagine Dragons: Eyes Closed (Single)
To herald the album, LOOM, the band recently shared their soaring new anthem entitled “Eyes Closed.” The track illuminates their penchant for boundary-breaking. Stretching the limits of the soundscape almost to the breaking point, they harness a burst of energy with a rafter-reaching refrain primed to soar on the upcoming summer tour.

Kae Shelby: Unbroken (Album)
This past summer Kae Shelby set off from Ottawa on an 1800 mile road trip headed for Austin, Texas with Kae's Krew, her loyal backroom team in Canada (which includes The Sound Cafe columnist, Jo Louks). They documented the epic trip and recording sessions with US-based, Canadian music maestro, Anders Drerup, and his amazing team. Following on from Music & Motorcycles, Unbroken is the second in a trilogy of albums that Kae Shelby is releasing.

Katankin: In A New Way (Single)
Katankin has released an exquisite, nuanced and beautiful song, In A New Way, the first from a forthcoming EP. Katankin is the solo moniker of Melbourne indie-folk singer-songwriter and producer, Helen Catanchin. Born of Russian and Romanian migrant parents, and with a difficult, often harrowing family history, Katankin’s music is nevertheless an ode and testament to love, faith, and ultimately, hope.

6hunesseq: ma olen maa peal võõras (Album)
In the music of 6hunesseq, the rich world of folk chorales meets the pipe organ and the archaic sounds of the talharpa and the violin. The latter two instruments are often used in traditional Estonian dance music. The interplay of these different sounds and timbres creates a meditative yet powerful soundscape. 6hunesseq revive an almost forgotten style of traditional Estonian music.
