Finding Beauty in the Wreckage: Surfing for Daisy Return with Echo The Madness

There is a distinct, salt-air magic that breathes through Asbury Park, New Jersey, a coastal haven built on the ghosts of rock-and-roll legends and a gritty, resilient community spirit. It is fitting, then, that alternative folk-rock six-piece Surfing for Daisy calls this town home.
The band's genesis has an unhurried, organic charm to it, born simply on a porch among a circle of new and old friends. Frontman and acoustic guitarist Nick Francis, whose foundational songwriting traces back to days stationed in Hawaii with the Navy, crossed paths with lead guitarist Mike Bernabei after a local gig. Joined by childhood friend and drummer Steven Filippone, the nucleus of the group formed during late-night jam sessions that stretched for hours in empty rooms. As their chemistry deepened, they expanded into a formidable six-piece lineup with bassist Cam Seidel, rhythm guitarist Dan DiSantis, and keyboardist/vocalist Kathryn McCarty.
Today, that close-knit camaraderie blossoms fully as the band unveils their eagerly awaited sophomore album, Echo The Madness, available now across all digital streaming platforms.

That striking juxtaposition has quickly become Surfing for Daisy's signature artistic compass.
Their sound rests comfortably in alternative folk-rock with subtle touches of psychedelia, yet it ultimately resists easy categorization, moving fluidly between moods, acoustic warmth, and driving electric textures. Whether dissecting the nostalgic euphoria of young love or staring unflinchingly into the heavy, human realities of struggle and addiction, as heard on their visceral, soul-searching single "Methamphetamine", the group never shies away from emotional gravity. Francis’s gravelly, resonant delivery, paired with McCarty’s floating vocal harmonies, builds an atmosphere that feels deeply vulnerable and unflinchingly alive.
That authenticity has fuelled a steady, hard-earned momentum. Following the warm embrace of their self-titled debut album and an unforgettable, sun-soaked performance in front of thousands at the Sea.Hear.Now festival, the band has continued to conquer milestones, including a triumphant, sold-out headlining stint at the legendary Stone Pony.
Now, they are taking those stories back to the highway. In support of Echo The Madness, Surfing for Daisy will be touring extensively through the late fall, bringing their coastal soul and unfiltered storytelling to stages across the United States.
