Australia's Sand Brothers Release 'Spirit Animal' The Superb New Song From The Forthcoming Album

"Disheveled coastal rock, with late changes and storms developing in the evening.”

Time for something different. Spirit Animal by Sand Brothers is a sideways splash of Spit Enzy-rock'n'roll for sand fans young and old. A live favourite. The song charts the journey of our protagonist, from his rural idyll, and on into the heart of the Spanish Civil War as he desperately makes his way to his lost love - or something like that. Just turn it up and let it take you somewhere. From the forthcoming debut album 'Too Much Sky', to be released on Summer Storm Records, May 2023.

Sand Brothers is a supergroup of sorts, formed in 2020 by Greg Walker (Machine Translations) and Rick Sands (The Night Party) along with Pete Cook (Yamamoto), Din Roberts (Kutcha Edwards Band) and Glen Scarlett (Oak). The band has spent the past two years writing and recording a load of original material, to be released as a debut album ‘Too Much Sky’. The debut single ‘Adelaide’ was an immediate, energetic gem that taps deep into the melodic seam of driving Australiana mined by the likes of The Go-Betweens, The Triffids, Crow and Died Pretty. The next single - The Usual Things - continued in that vein. The songs reflect the diversity of influence and experience that results in a rocking live outfit who produce atmospheres of calm and urgency, light and dark, power and restraint. Sand Brothers will be launching a series of singles over the next three months in the lead up to their album release.
