curated playlists, exploring genres from Blues and Roots to Country, Rock, Folk, Americana, World,

and Experimental music.

Our Journey

While there are many “Sound Cafés” in the musical world, our journey began in 2004 at

The Sound Café Recording Studio in Scotland, operated by groove meister Dave Gray. Here,

our founder Stevie Connor, cut his teeth recording as a member of Dave's band, and learned

that music was far more than woollen jumpers and acoustic guitars, it was a universe of creativity

waiting to be discovered.

One evening, after a recording session, a tape of Robbie Robertson inspired a journey to Canada, revealing an extraordinary world of artists from North America and eventually from across the globe.

Today, you’ll find their stories, albums, and interviews featured in The Sound Cafe Magazine.

Each month, around 70,000 music lovers visit The Sound Cafe, spanning 78 countries. From New York to Scotland, Paris to Latin America, our multilingual platform, English, French, and Spanish, makes music discovery accessible to a truly international audience.
