After a year long hiatus because of COVID-19, the Americana Honors & Awards returned Wednesday to Ryman Auditorium for an in-person ceremony celebrating the confluence of roots, blues, soul, folk and country music.
Jason Isbell, Amythyst Kiah, Allison Russell, Valerie June and Brandi Carlile led nominations for the 2021 show; performers included each of the aforementioned artists, plus Steve Earle, Margo Price, Sarah Jarosz, country supergroup The Highwomen and Charley Crockett, among others.
In its 20th year, Americana Honors and Awards anchors the annual AmericanaFest, which draws thousands to Music City for a conference and festival featuring more than 200 artists. Showcases take place through Saturday in Nashville clubs, theatres and concert halls.
