Since 2009, the rollicking crew of Skinny Lister have proven that folk-punk is not just a genre, it’s a way of life. From playing in narrowboats to crowd-surfing to the bar, double bass in hand, this band’s energy is as infectious as their anthems. Now, Skinny Lister return with their seventh studio album, ‘Songs From The Yonder’, and a barnstorming run of UK and European tour dates to match.

‘Songs From The Yonder’ picks up where 2023’s acclaimed ‘Shanty Punk’ left off. Once again self-produced and mixed by frontman Dan Heptinstall and mastered at Abbey Road Studios by Frank Arkwright, this record captures the band’s live ferocity with core tracks recorded live and left unedited. From the stormy optimism of the title track to the rollicking “Plough On” and swaggering drinking song “Set Us Straight,” the album is a glorious testament to the themes that have always defined Skinny Lister: seafaring, travelling, drinking, family, and facing life’s trials with a raised flagon.

The new record is out now on coloured vinyl, digital, signed CD, and five special-edition CDs featuring bespoke postcard artwork by John Davison and unique bonus acoustic tracks – a true collector’s delight. It’s a record that brims with nostalgia and fresh optimism, hoisting the band’s timeless themes high on the mast for fans old and new.

Skinny Lister will take these anthems to stages across Europe this November, with 26 shows from Paris to Berlin, Vienna to Stockholm. The run culminates in a series of UK dates leading up to Christmas, promising wild nights in Southampton, Leeds, Glasgow and beyond.

Ahead of that, the band are also appearing at festivals and launch shows this summer, from Wychwood and Beardy Folk to Doncaster’s GIAF7.

Skinny Lister’s world has always been an adventure. They’ve played gigs in Land Rovers and sung while wing-walking. They’ve danced on restaurant tables and elevators, reeling into hearts across the globe with every pint-lifting anthem. Their last album, ‘Shanty Punk’, was described as “very good…raucous!” by RNR Magazine and “the balm that no festive season can do without” by The Morning Star. ‘Songs From The Yonder’ carries that flag forward with the same chest-thumping joy and heart-on-sleeve honesty.

Wherever they roam – from folk festivals to mosh pits – you can count on Skinny Lister to bring the good times. So, grab your flagon, lace up your dancing shoes, and join the wildest party band around as they plough on into the yonder once more.
