There is something truly captivating about JUNO Award nominee Kellie Loder (they/them). Their unrivaled lyrical brilliance is honest and vulnerable in ways that make the music feel deeply personal. Described as, "a multi-genre marvel," Kellie's musical journey began on the shores of Newfoundland & Labrador, lending to their unmatched songwriting prowess, and distinctive blend of folk, Americana and indie pop influences.

"When We Kiss" is a song about being so infatuated with someone that the world seems to disappear when you kiss them. Kellie wrote it at their kitchen table in St. John's the morning after their most romantic night of their life. They have been performing it at live shows for what seems like forever and now it’ll finally live on an album.

"I feel as though it's the closest thing to my heart on the record. I can still feel the feelings I felt all those years ago when I listen to it. It's also the first song I’ve written that will be released and that’s obviously about a girl. It's a huge checkmark in sharing who I really am with the world, sexuality and all. For so many years, I would censor or change pronouns of the person I was writing about to not out myself. In this song, I don't hold back at all and it's refreshing."

Described as, “a multi-genre marvel,” Kellie’s musical journey began on the shores of Newfoundland & Labrador, lending to their unmatched songwriting prowess, and distinctive blend of folk, Americana and indie pop influences. Loder’s signature sound coupled with their magnetic stage presence has earned them notable accolades including, “Songwriter of the Year”, and “Fan’s Choice Entertainer of the Year” at the 2023 East Coast Music Awards, placing first-runner-up on Canada’s Got Talent (2022), and co-writing with household names such as Alan Doyle, Steven Page, The Good Lovelies, and Grammy award-winning musician and producer, Greg Wells to name a few.

Loder’s empowering anthem, “Fearless” was used as the soundtrack behind the CBC’s Tokyo Olympics coverage and in the Superpower Dogs IMAX Trailer narrated by Chris Evans (Captain America/Avengers). Their groundbreaking video and compelling song “Molded Like A Monster” was recognized with the 2021 ECMA Video of the Year Award and the MusicNL Ron Hynes Songwriter of the Year Award.

Loder’s highly anticipated fourth studio record is set to drop globally in 2024. Elevating themselves to new heights, the upcoming record is a stunningly crafted masterpiece with stories of love, heartbreak, life and transitions. Can’t Go Back, the album’s second single gives listeners a glimpse of the pure authenticity of one of Canada’s most promising and celebrated songwriters. As spoken by Howie Mandal and Simon Cowell (CGT), Loder has a bright future ahead, and with this next offering, one thing is for certain, Kellie Loder is a towering talent about to explode on the world stage. If you’re not already on this train, jump on now as it’s about to leave the station.
