New Single & Video From New Album And Award-Winning Film By US-Based Singer-Songwriter Kaya Stewart

Alt-pop songstress Kaya Stewart has today released a new single and video for ‘Jealous’, a song lifted from her recently issued second album, ‘If Things Go South’.

The video is also included in a 35 minute film made to accompany the album that has just won a Los Angeles International Film Festival award for ‘Best Music Video’. Directed by Paul Boyd, it documents Kaya’s self-actualization as an artist along with the aches and pains of growing up, doubt, heartbreak and mental health issues.

Influenced by the likes of Alanis Morissette and Debbie Harry, Kaya's new album sees her uncorking a hypnotic and hard-hitting sound with full creative control and complete independence. “This record is 100% who I am now,” she declares. “This is the Kaya I was working towards all along.” Its release on 30th September followed the rapid-fire set of singles ‘Honey’, ‘’Til I Fixed It’, ‘Hope You’re Happy’ and the record’s title song.

Born in London but raised in Los Angeles, Kaya’s musical career began in her mid-teens with a self-titled debut album on Warners that included the breakout hit ‘In Love With A Boy’. She then cut the ‘Miss Kaya’ EP with producer Jamie Lidell. Now 22, she has arrived fully formed with a scorching signature style on a new record that is tied together with powerful vocals that utilise pop-punk attitude, intimate Americana-tinged storytelling and infectious, danceable grooves. Co-written and co-produced in Nashville with her father, Dave Stewart, ‘If Things Go South’ is Kaya at her most authentic and expressive self.
