Rising from the heart of Georgia to the global stage, Megan Moroney continues her unstoppable ascent in country music with the release of her breathtaking new single, “Beautiful Things.”

The song has already captured the hearts of audiences around the world, a soul-stirring moment of reflection, empathy, and grace that reminds us all of the fragile beauty in being human.

Fans first fell in love with the song during Moroney’s record-breaking AM I OKAY? TOUR, which wrapped earlier this month after a string of sold-out shows. “Beautiful Things” stood out as one of the most emotionally resonant moments of the night, the kind of song that silences a crowd, holds them close, and leaves them changed. Co-written with Connie Harrington, Jessie Jo Dillon, and Jessi Alexander, and produced by longtime collaborator Kristian Bush, the track carries the unmistakable intimacy that has become Moroney’s hallmark.

From its opening lines, “You’re standing at your bathroom mirror / Crying ‘what did I do?’ tears”, Moroney paints a scene with cinematic precision. Her voice, delicate yet defiant, glides across gently tumbling guitar lines and soft steel textures, laying bare the pain and hope that coexist in all of us. What begins as a quiet whisper of empathy unfolds into a powerful message of resilience, culminating in the song’s heart-rending refrain:

“The world is hard on beautiful things.”

It’s this lyrical honesty that makes “Beautiful Things” such a defining moment in Moroney’s ever-evolving artistry. Written for her newborn niece, the song embodies her deep compassion, a reminder that love and protection are the most human instincts we possess. “When she was born, I remember just looking at her and being like, ‘She’s so perfect, and I just never want anything sad to happen to her,’” Moroney shared with fans at her sold-out Charleston stadium debut, where she first performed the song live in September.

That raw emotion, captured in the now-viral performance video from Credit One Stadium, has since propelled the track into the public consciousness. Critics have been unanimous in their praise: Rolling Stone, Whiskey Riff, and Holler have all lauded it as one of her most “poignant” and “evocative” releases to date, proof that Moroney’s confessional storytelling continues to strike a universal chord.

“Beautiful Things” follows the massive success of “6 Months Later,” Moroney’s highest Billboard Hot 100 debut, and offers a glimpse into her forthcoming third studio album — a project already generating feverish anticipation. If her past two albums (Lucky, 2023, and Am I Okay?, 2024) revealed her as a bold new voice in country, this next chapter looks set to cement her legacy as one of the genre’s most emotionally intelligent songwriters.

Moroney celebrated the song’s release earlier this month with a surprise acoustic pop-up at La La Land Kind Café in Nashville, performing “Beautiful Things” for an intimate crowd alongside stripped-down versions of fan favourites “Tennessee Orange” and “Am I Okay?”. The spontaneous event captured everything that defines her artistry: authenticity, vulnerability, and a deep bond with her audience.

Now, with her first-ever live album, Am I Okay? Tour (Live) , freshly released and a headline run across the U.S. and Canada behind her, Moroney has taken her emotive sound international. Following a sold-out concert at Brisbane’s Riverstage last night, she heads to Sydney and Melbourne this weekend for the Ridin’ Hearts Festival 2025, bringing her spellbinding live show to Australian audiences for the first time.

A fixture on the cover of MusicRow’s 2025 Publisher Issue and a six-time nominee at this year’s CMA Awards, including Female Vocalist of the Year, Moroney’s star continues to soar. Yet, for all the accolades, it’s songs like “Beautiful Things” that truly define her: quiet, deeply human moments that find poetry in life’s most vulnerable corners.

With more than 3.7 billion streams, multiple PLATINUM certifications, and a growing international fanbase, Megan Moroney’s rise feels unstoppable. But “Beautiful Things” proves that beneath the glitter of her success lies something far more enduring — a voice that speaks to the heart, and a spirit that refuses to lose sight of the beauty in being real.
