Jessica Pearson and the East Wind will be releasing their anthemic new single “Ready My Heart” on September 18th, encouraging fans to be courageous and invite change into their lives.

“It is easy in life to just coast, not take chances and let life pass us by”, band leader Jessica Pearson begins. “But in order to really live and experience life, we have to take chances! Even though it might end in heartbreak or failure, it is still worth it to experience love, success, happiness, joy and more! We need to ‘Ready Our Hearts’ for the good and the bad!”

Jessica Pearson is a Canadian born storyteller with a voice like melting honey on a summers eve. Accompanied by Maddy O’Regan on the fiddle, they bring to life tales of the past and express the beauty and heartbreak of the world today.

In 2017 they released their debut EP ‘Grave and Garden Songs’ to a sold out crowd at LIVE! On Elgin. Playing over 80 shows a year in Canada, Ireland and the United Kingdom, they have been writing songs and collecting stories from all over the world.

Jessica Pearson and the East Wind have recently signed to Willow Sound Records and Syndicut Music Publishing with Jessica’s first cut on Joe Diffie’s single ‘As Long As There’s A Bar’. They are currently working on their first full length album to be released in 2020.

Their music blends folk, roots and East Coast bluegrass to create a unique sound of their own. From a cappella tunes sung in the middle of the audience to recollections of growing up in Canada, Jessica Pearson and the East Wind will take you on a journey with their dynamic live shows and entertaining story telling.

The pair of Jessica Pearson (vocals, guitar), and Maddy O’Regan (vocals, violin) released their debut EP ‘Graves and Garden Songs’ back in 2017 and “Ready My Heart” is the first taste of new music in three years, following an Eastern Canada tour and signing to indie label Willow Sound Records.

While their EP was rooted in the Canadian folk and Celtic music scene, their new single branches out as the band explores the earworm qualities of pop-country, with sonic ties to The Chicks, Brandi Carlile, and The Good Lovelies. Sweeping vocal harmonies and bright instrumentation bring out the song’s warm-hearted chorus, as Jessica triumphantly sings “I’m gonna ready my heart / no more slow and steady / that’s enough already”.

Storytelling continues to be a central part of their music and to celebrate Jessica Pearson and the East Wind have announced a social media campaign in line with the theme of “Ready My Heart”, encouraging fans to share their “Ready My Heart” moment.

The band explains:

“We wanted to inspire people to challenge themselves to go after their own goals and to say ‘yes’ to new and exciting opportunities; and what better way to inspire than to share? We’ve created ‘Ready My Heart Moments’ on our social media and website, where we’ve shared stories of moments in our lives where we prepared ourselves for love, heartbreak, new experiences, and failures. We’re encouraging people to share their own ‘Ready My Heart Moments’ with us, expressed in whatever way they’d like; a song, a dance, an email, a poem, a painting...if people want to share it then we want to receive it. We’ve already been sent some incredible stories that we’ll be sharing with everyone very soon!

With their debut album coming out next spring, the folk duo has acknowledged the nervousness and excitement that comes with a brand new release.

“The album itself is a Ready My Heart Moment. It is so scary taking your own songs and putting them out into the world…But by doing something scary and creating this album these songs have become even better than we could have imagined, and we are so excited to share them with you all”.
