Global Rising Star Holly Humberstone Releases New Track 'Into Your Room' Feat. Iconic Pop Trio MUNA

By Stevie Connor.

Baring her soul and continuing on her rise as one of the most exciting artists of her generation, earlier this month Holly Humberstone released her debut album Paint My Bedroom Black to critical acclaim, achieving a top 5 album in the UK OCC. Today, the BRIT Award-winning and Ivor-nominated singer and songwriter premieres a brand new version of her BBC Radio 1-playlisted track “Into Your Room” featuring the iconic indie pop trio MUNA.

"Into You Room" is a track dappled in dream alt-pop that captures the expansive sonic moments of Holly's debut album that sound like hurtling down a West Coast Highway, so it's only right that Holly has teamed up with the California-hailing, radical joy-championing MUNA to add a new spin to this already-hit single.

A remarkable amalgamation of two hugely influential artists who unapologetically wear their emotions on their sleeves, Holly says of the collaboration: “I’m obsessed with MUNA and have been wanting to work with them for ages, I’m so thankful that I finally get to have them bring their magic to one of my songs.”

While MUNA adds: “We had tons of fun making this version of the song with Holly, who is a BBB (Bad British Bitch). Thank you Holly for having us, and I hope you all shake some ass and sing along.”

“Into Your Room” appears on Humberstone’s critically acclaimed debut album Paint My Bedroom Black, which is out now via Darkroom / Geffen / Polydor Records. The debut album represents her coming of age, showcasing her growth from an underground singer to one of the most exciting alternative pop stars of her generation. The dark and otherworldly space she has built has been lucid and visceral, capturing moments that are both uncomfortably intimate and brutally revealing. Having been nominated for two Ivor Novello’s, winning the BRIT Rising Star in 2022 and coming runner up in BBC Sound Of 2021, Holly’s storytelling is at the heart of her craft.

Over the past few months, Holly has performed for Vevo’s studio sessions, with a sublime live version of “Ghost Me”, and was also invited to perform for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge month where she played “Into Your Room” and covered Frank Ocean’s “Ivy”. Most recently, she premiered the official music video for her track “Elvis Impersonators,” which was filmed on a recent trip to Japan with a local director she found on Instagram with Lost In Translation-esque cinematography.

Having just played a run of stunning intimate live shows in partnership with independent record stores across the UK, Holly has announced her biggest UK and European tour to date, headlining 20 venues in Spring 2024, including The Albert Hall in Manchester on 8 March and London’s Eventim Apollo on 13 March 2024. She also announced a 2024 North American tour, launching in May with shows across Canada and the US.

Since releasing their third, self-titled album in 2022, the band has been traversing the world on the supporting Life’s So Fun tour, which culminated in two sold-out nights at L.A.’s legendary Greek Theatre in October 2023. MUNA’s game-changing year has also seen them support Taylor Swift on multiple dates on The Eras Tour in the US, and support frequent collaborators, boygenius, on their world tour.
