First Taste Of The Winnie Blues' Debut Album

It could have been any other Wednesday, at any other venue in NYC. But on this warm spring evening, Alice Beatty and Cameron Potts had a chance encounter at a Ruby Boots gig in the Lower East Side in 2016. After hearing each others Australian accent, the pair bonded over beer and a shared passion for music.

Less than a year later with no contact, both Beatty and Potts separately and unknowingly moved to Nashville, TN. A chance encounter at a dive bar led them to believe that fate was in charge of the narrative. The pair began song writing, and introduced themselves asThe Winnie Blues.

“I instantly felt comfortable with Cam. He valued my ideas, and he could pretty much read my thoughts from early on. Something just clicked and we were in sync with our song writing process” says Beatty.

After releasing their debut single ‘Settle Down’ in 2018, the pair got busy writing and touring, and establishing themselves in the East Nashville music community.

The Winnie Blues draw on inspiration from some of the most influential duo’s in music history. From Johnny & June, to Nick & Kylie, and Emmylou & Gram to place their unique stamp on the Americana music scene.

When The Winnie Blues step on to the stage they bring with them a mix of established artistry and raw sincerity. Having toured for some 12 years, Writer/Vocalist/Guitarist Cameron Potts established himself through his work with Dead Letter Chorus, bringing a depth of knowledge and experience with authentic, dark and dynamic songwriting. Beatty carries with her a youthful ambition and a voice that is so unique and honest, you’d be forgiven for thinking she herself had years of world class touring under her belt.

At the end 2019, they had finished tracking their first album with the grand plans of a 2020 extensive tour through the south-east of the US to promote their album release.

2020 had other plans- but you know this. It’s been an incredibly difficult year for everyone.

With their eyes cast to the future, The Winnie Blues released

Coming Home to You’ on October 27th, 2020.

Coming Home to You is the first taste from The Winnie Blues' debut album and is being put out independently on the duo's own label Two Hands Records. The song itself was written from a perspective of courage and hope, transitioning from a quiet conversation between lovers facing defeat, to a community of the empowered.

For many people, 2020 has amplified that we are still living in a world where human rights are being debated and negotiated by those with the most. Says writer/vocalist Alice Beatty "We hope and advocate for a world where equity and equality are valued as much as money or power. Where one can know themselves, and feel at home in their community, their body and their mind."
