East London Five-Piece Forty Elephant Gang Release New Single 'Miss You' + Announce EP launch

Forty Elephant Gang are a rousing, engaging, and intensely innovative five -piece from East London who blend Folk, Americana and American Blues, with truly classic songwriting. The band released new single ‘Miss You’ on Feb 10th, 2023 just in time for Valentines Day. The track is taken from their forthcoming EP ‘The Time We Lost’ due for release March 31st.

You’re in a restaurant and the middle-aged couple next to you haven't spoken a word to each other the whole time you’ve been there… they sit in silence and don’t even bother to search for small talk ….they have nothing to say to each other anymore. This song is dedicated to them!

Forty Elephant Gang take their name from a notorious gang of female pickpockets from The Elephant & Castle. The band features Andrew White (Lead Vox and Guitar) Sean Mannion (Mandolin and Backing Vox) and James Bachmann (Guitar and backing Vox), who started the band as a trio, with recent additions to the line-up including Martin Moore (Drums) and Frazor Twyman on (Bass), adding a punchier feel to the bands live sound.

Since the bands formation they’ve taken their unique sound to large and varied audiences throughout London and the UK; from ad-hoc rooftop parties to Folk and Acoustic nights to rock bars and back again to back-street boozers, Forty Elephant Gang have received a wave of support and won friends and admirers from all walks of life and are quickly being recognized as one of the best live bands on the circuit right now.

The bands musical influences include the Beatles, the Verve and Blur which you can hear in both the 60’s feel to their music and lyrics; further enhanced by references to milk floats, bringing in the washing, throwing sickies.

The band received support from Bob Harris BBC Radio 2 show and BBC London’s Gary Crowley, as well as BBC Essex and independent stations such as Resonance FM, with many hailing their debut album Next Time Round a triumph.
