Canadian Touring Blues & Roots Artist Shirley Jackson Drops New Single 'Do You Want Me To Be Honest'

Shirley Jackson is a Canadian touring blues & roots artist who epitomizes the blues & roots experience with every performance she gives and with every recording she makes.


Over recent months Jackson has released a number of singles which have garnered airplay on Canadian and international radio platforms. Her latest release the rootsie, country style Do You Want Me To Be Honest comes hot on the heels of of her previous single, Just Like Heaven. The new single is a catchy, up beat song questioning the path of too much drinking, it includes some very cool fiddle and lap steel solo breaks too.


A recognized singer-songwriter in the International Song Award Finals (2022) and the World Song Awards top ten finalists (2022) an award winning saxophone player with two Maple Blues Awards for Horn Player (2018, & 2003). Jackson is an accomplished songwriter, arranger and music producer and has been a mainstay in the Nova Scotia music scene for the past 35 years as a singer, saxophone player, guitarist, percussionist and band leader.


She not only fronts the six piece Good Rockin' Daddys but also writes and performs with he son, Jef Wirchenko on acoustic bass as the Jackson & Wirchenko Duo.


The six piece horned powered Shirley Jackson & Her Good Rockin' Daddys hail to a sound inspired by the early years of Rock & Roll when horn sections were an integral part of the sound of a swingin' and rockin’ good time.


Shirley Jackson has independently produced six albums, and five singles for release. All four albums released with the Good Rockin' Daddys were nominated for Blues Recording of the Year by the East Coast Music Association and the Nova Scotia Music Association.
