Canada's Own Queen Of Americana Lynne Hanson To Release New Single 'Light In Me'

Light In Me is the first new music from Lynne Hanson since her self-produced album “Ice Cream In November" (April 2022). The award-winning songwriter has once again teamed up with producer Jim Bryson (Kathleen Edwards, Suzie Ungerleider).

“As much as I loved self-recording my last album, it was really freeing to hand the reigns back over to Jim. I absolutely love what he brings to the table in terms of his sonic vision and creative direction.”

The single Light In Me was commissioned by a super fan of Lynne Hanson’s. A friend was going through a dark time, and they knew the individual was a huge fan of Lynne’s music. It took Lynne three months to get up the courage to write a song that would have the depth needed to make a difference. The song itself was written in a day once she set her mind to the task at hand. The result is a song that explores the theme of loneliness and despair, and the need to rediscover the light that shines bright in all of us. It’s a song of hope that shimmers from beneath the darkness we all sometimes find ourselves trying to escape.

Lynne Hanson is a two-time Canadian Folk Music Award winner, a recipient of the Colleen Peterson Songwriting Award, winner of the Blues and Roots Radio International Song Contest, two-time Folk Music Ontario Blues Award winner, a two-time Indie Acoustic Project Alt-Country album of the year winner, and a two-time Kerrville New Folk finalist. She is an international touring artist, having performed at festivals and venues across Canada, the United States, Europe, and the United Kingdom. Hanson has appeared at leading international festivals including Take Root (Netherlands), Glasgow Americana (Scotland), Maverick Festival (UK), Kerrville Folk Festival (US), and Winnipeg Folk Festival (Canada). She’s toured as support for Grammy-nominated artists like Gretchen Peters, Steve Forbert, and Albert Lee.
