Brazilian Guitarist Sergio Pereira Set To Release Third Album On Spanish Label Sedajazz Records
Sergio Pereira embarks on his third album, Finesse. The album will be released by the Spanish record label Sedajazz Records. His previous albums include Swingando (released independently) and Nu Brasil, released in 2018 by the New York Latin label Zoho Music. These albums reflect all the emotions, energy, and dynamics of growing up in Rio, living around the globe, and being in touch with his culture throughout his life.
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Sergio started playing acoustic guitar at the age of 8 years old. Since the beginning of the ’90s, he has traveled the world, playing with different bands and venues in many other countries in Europe, Africa, and elsewhere.
Sergio has shared music with Gil Goldstein, Mark Egan (Pat Metheny), Matt King (Chuck Loeb), Helio Alves, Nilson Matta, Mauricio Zottarelli, Ralph Moore, Lonnie Plaxico, Duduka da Fonseca, Alex Sipiagin, Reza Khan, Greg Skaff, Vitor Goncalves, Filo Machado and many others.
He has been performing in the United States and Europe at venues such as Club Bonafide, Cornelia Street Cafe, The Jazz Forum, and The Zinc Bar in New York; the Madrid International Jazz Festival, Valencia Jazz Festival, Sala Clamores, Sala Matisse, El Plaza Jazz Club, Cafe Mercedes Jazz, Sala Matisse, La Fabrica de Hielo, Veles e Vents and the Jimmy Glass Jazz Club in Spain.
