Bravery On Fire: A Benefit For Women's Cancer Awareness

Virtual Fundraising Event on Sept. 24, 8pm EDT

Global Livestream Will Benefit Foundation for Women's Cancer

On September 24th, singer-songwriter and self-described "cancer thriver" Rachael Sage will bring together a powerful group of performers for a great cause. Entitled "Bravery On Fire: A Benefit for Women's Cancer Awareness", the virtual event will raise funds for Foundation For Women's Cancer, and will feature a variety of performers including Grammy® winners Paula Cole and Lisa Loeb, Latin Grammy® winner Gaby Moreno, Tony-nominated Broadway actors Megan Hilty and Alison Pill, musicians Jill Sobule, Kyshona, Grace Pettis, and Heather Mae & Crys Matthews, Grace Kelly, Toby Lightman, Fiona Harte, dancer Abigail Simon (see more at braveryonfire.com).

Every 5 minutes we lose a woman to gynecological cancer, and with September designated as Gynecological Cancer Awareness Month, NYC based musician and cancer survivor Rachael Sage will be producing/hosting (and playing)  Bravery On Fire: A Benefit for Women's Cancer AwarenessThe event will feature a cavalcade of award-winning performers who will join Rachael to rally for the cause.

Sage, founder of MPress Records and 6-time Independent Music Award winner, found inspiration for the songs on her latest album Character during the many challenges she faced amidst a gynecological cancer diagnosis and her ultimate recovery, when she was forced to ask herself "what comprises character?". These songs celebrate gratitude, forgveness, and the inner strength a person is capable of achieving in an extremely difficult situation.

September is Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month, and Sage – who is in remission from uterine cancer – felt it was more important than ever to shine a light on these cancers that affect so many women but receive relatively little public attention or research funding. Sage explains, "Every 5 minutes we lose a woman to gynecological cancer, and it concerns me that women and their loved ones are often embarrassed to even discuss it. Before my diagnosis, I was completely uninformed about how wide-reaching these cancers are, across all demographics and worldwide." Via this event Sage hopes to bring awareness to Women's Cancer as a whole, specifically highlighting prevention, early detection, and research.

The livestream itself will be overseen by Grammy® & Emmy-winning music and television production company StreamTheory, and livestreamed from braveryonfire.com as well as via Facebook Live and YouTube.
