Paul Cafcae’s music has been described as “a unique sound – something bands try to attain for years, often without success.” An original, exciting songwriter and performer, Paul Cafcae’s new album, ‘Where I Am’, is a thrilling and riveting set of timely and insightful songs. Paul joined Douglas in a forthright and compelling interview.

Paul’s musical journey began at the age of 6 when his parents enrolled him into music school for accordion in the Soviet Union. Attending classes 4 days a week, the future songwriter was taught music theory, harmony, solfeggio, rhythm and music literature, with regular instrumental classes in accordion, piano, as well as vocals. At 15 he shifted his focus toward guitar. Quickly making it his instrument of choice, Cafcae started performing in rock bands in Europe.

Since moving to Canada in 2009, Paul has become known as a passionate performer and songwriter who blends a number of compatible genres, rockabilly, blues, and country rock. The aesthetics of his songs bearing a vintage, old tape Americana quality.
