'Third Development' Release Collection Of Music Created In Canada With Global Collaborations
The Thought of Tomorrow is the first collection of music released by Third Development. Created in Canada with global collaboration, this music is an optimist’s message to the world in the face of life’s uncertainties.
Born out of a burning desire to create art at a time where there was (is) nowhere to go but ‘within’, lead band member Geoffrey James sat down in 2020 to compose what became Third Development’s debut album, The Thought of Tomorrow, a blend of 80s infused synth and 90s inspired electronica to create a soundtrack for optimism and hope; providing a few moments of reprieve and idyllic state for the mind, body and soul.
Touted as "Lush, elegant, ethereal; escapist electronic-pop with dreamy allure while synths shimmer”, the album quickly lays down a mood that is introspective and often exotic. It ebbs and flows between instrumental beats and atmospheric vocals from Manchester-based @kintsuku; floating between upbeat and hopeful to downtempo and thought-provoking.
Proving to be anything but predictable, James followed-up with two more singles in 2021, “Shining On” and “Echoes,” both featuring lead vocals from Mila Sade (Atlanta, GA). These singles introduced a new sound for Third Development with Mila’s vocals delivering a more powerful performance while Third Development’s telltale synth work provides the perfect backbone for each track. “Echoes” also features a hip-hop performance from Lucid Letters of the UK, which adds a wonderfully unexpected vocal twist to the track.
Third Development has worked with talent such as Grammy-Winning, and 3-time 2020 Grammy-nominated Mastering Engineer Emily Lazar (NYC), Mix Engineer and Producer Sara Fedi (Italy), Flutist Livia Schweizer (Helsinki, Finland), Saxophonist Kevin McMahon (Italy) and vocalists; Kintsuku, (UK), hip hop rap artist Lucid Letters (UK) and Mila Sade (Atlanta, GA). The surreal, cosmic-inspired album artwork was designed by artist Eden Redpath (Houston, TX).
Third Development’s music is meant to be shared, to travel far and be heard by many.
