By Stevie Connor.
May Davis has released a new single "Ocean Side", about the single May says, " This song harnesses the power of sunshine...reflecting in summer vibes, the adventure of a new season and reminds me of my summers spent in California bumming out in my camper van meeting beautiful souls along the coastline."
May is an emerging singer-songwriter based in Revelstoke, BC. Her unique and unforgettable sound pulls from blues, Americana and old-time country western with smokey vocals that echo vintage crooners like Bobbie Gentry and Janis Joplin, but the unforgettable stories and songs she brings to the stage are all her own.
In 2021, Davis released her first full-length album which she showcased on her fruitful May in July summer tour in 2022. Davis recently supported notable bands including Elliot Brood and Shred Kelly while headlining Kaslo Jazz Etc. Festival, Summer Sounds and Tiny Lights. She has plenty more tricks up her sleeve for 2023 including the release of three saucy singles and a deadly music video on the wild horizon, so buckle up and stay tuned!
May Davis is deeply rooted in folk, blues and classic soul. Telling stories from the heart of the mountains, she is originally from a small town in Ontario, Canada called Lynden, she now lives in the small mountain town of Revelstoke which is in British Columbia where she has steadily made a name for herself in the music community.
Often compared to the likes of legendary vocalists like Janis Joplin, Stevie Nicks and Norah Jones, Davis has been coined to have " ....the voice of an angel hit by a Whiskey truck" and is sure to intoxicate audiences with her witty stage presence and folk-inspired Americana music.
